Verdict: Dubai-based with one of the most flexible challenge lineups — four account types, 90% default split (100% with add-on), and scaling to $2M. 118,000+ traders and strong payout reputation make it a solid mid-tier choice for all experience levels.

AquaFunded launched in 2023 from Dubai under Jason Blax, Franco Crean, and Sean Bainton. With 118,000+ traders and four distinct challenge paths, it has become one of the more flexible mid-tier options in the prop trading space.

Challenge Types

  • The Wave (1-Phase): 8% target, 4% daily, 8% max. No time limit. First payout after 14 days.
  • The Ripple (2-Phase): Phase 1: 8%, Phase 2: 5%. More total drawdown room.
  • The Tide (3-Phase): Lowest per-phase targets, maximum total room.
  • Instant Funding: No evaluation, immediate access. First payout after 7 days.

Sizes $2,500–$400,000 (scalable to $2M). Fees from $39. Weekend trading, EAs, and news trading permitted. ECN spreads from 0.0 pips.

Key Rules to Know

40% daily profit cap: Profits beyond 40% of your daily target don’t count until the next day — encourages consistency. First three payouts capped at 5% of account balance. Standard profit split is 90%; 100% available as an add-on.

Verdict

AquaFunded offers one of the strongest default profit splits (90% without add-ons) with genuine scaling to $2M. Four challenge types cover all trading styles. Understand the 5% early payout cap and 40% daily limit before trading — they affect active strategies more than swing traders.

  • Scaling to $2,000,000
  • Four challenge types — flexibility for all styles
  • Weekend trading, EAs, and news trading permitted

  • $1,000 compensation guarantee for payout delays

Cons

  • First three payouts capped at 5% of account balance
  • 40% daily profit cap

Could be better

The rules are not very beginner-friendly. Passed after two attempts. Payouts work but the process is manual and slow. Platform sometimes lags during news events. Decent but not my first choice. — TrendFollower

Mixed feelings

Passed the challenge but had some issues getting my first payout processed. Took about a week instead of the promised 1-2 days. After that, the second payout was fine. Communication could be much better. — BitcoinBull
